Alicia M. "Alice" Makowiecki, of Grafton, died on Friday, May 1, 2015 in Worcester, peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Worcester, MA to Emily and Joseph Mysliwiec.  She leaves her husband of 63 years, Michael M. Makowiecki, one brother Chester Hunter of Clearwater, FL; six children, including three daughters, Karen Crandell and her husband Scott of Webster, MA, Alicia Trainor and her husband John of Worcester, MA, Marcia Sands and her husband Roger of Princeton, MA; three sons, Robert Makowiecki and his wife Sue of New Boston, NH, Peter Makowiecki and his wife Cindy of Scarborough, ME, and Michael A. Makowiecki and his wife Caroline of Rutland, MA.  She also leaves her beloved thirteen grandchildren, including; Sarah, Lisa, Annie, Amanda, Amy, Michelle, Stephen, Jimmy, Laura, Eric, Michael-Dane, Katie, Colleen and one great-grandchild, Maddox.
After graduation from Classical High School, Mrs. Makowiecki graduated from The Worcester School of Business Science, with an Associates Degree as a medical secretary.  She enjoyed her employment in various settings, including St. Vincent’s Hospital, the Army Exhibit Unit of Alexandria, VA and especially the Probation Office of the Westborough District Court, from which she retired.  She was diligent in raising and educating her six children in Westborough, MA – She was a communicant as St. Luke’s Church, Westborough, MA and a member of the Senior Women’s Club, there.
We wish to express our special thanks to the staff at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, for their loving care and support during her stay.
Calling Hours are Tuesday, May 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough.  Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Church Memorial Fund, 70 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581.
