Anne M. Fay

Anne (McQueeney) Fay, 72, of Westborough, MA passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham after a long illness.

Anne was born in Arlington, MA where she spent her childhood.  She graduated from Arlington High School in 1958, and attended Cardinal Cushing College where she received a BA in 1966.  On March 17, 1966, Anne married David Fay of Needham, MA, and they raised their three children in Westborough, MA where she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She followed her love of education by obtaining her MA from Framingham State College in 1976.  Anne began her career as a guidance counselor for the Dudley Charlton Regional School district in 1977.   Anne then went on to be the principal at Charlton Elementary School from 1987 to 2003, when she retired after many years in the field of education.  For her commitment, the “Anne M. Fay” playground at Charlton Elementary was dedicated in her honor in 2005.

Anne is survived by her husband of 47 years, David Fay of Westborough, MA; her 3 children, Sheila Cowles and her husband Steve Holhubner of Farmington, CT, Andrew Fay and wife Karen of Westborough, MA, and Megan McGoff and husband Dave of Ashland, MA; her eight grandchildren, Matthew, Max, Michael, Nicholas, Katherine, Jack, Kealy, and Blaire; her brother William McQueeney of Sudbury, MA; nephew Michael and Barbara McQueeney of Buffalo, NY, and her niece Maureen and Kevin Kearney of Toms River, New Jersey.  Anne will be forever remembered for her love of family and friends.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Tuesday, November 26th from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Donations in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
