Antoinette “Annette” Metzger, 86, of Westborough, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare in Worcester. She was the wife of the late William Metzger.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Sessa) Zanca. She was educated in Queens, NY and graduated from Jamaica Vocational High School.
Annette was employed as a lab technician at Midwood Hospital in Brooklyn and in later years was a clerk at Bronx Bagel retiring in 2005.
She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a member of St. Luke’s Folk Group, volunteered for St. Luke’s Parish Outreach and was a member of the Westborough Community Chorus.
She is survived by her five children, William A. Metzger and his wife, Kathy, of Dobbin, TX, Linda J. Metzger of Auburn, Ronald E. Metzger and his wife, Sally, of Grafton, Susan D. Metzger and her husband, James, of Chicago and Ann Marie Johnson and her husband, Peter, of Medway: one brother, Angelo Zanca of Tamarack, FL and five grandchildren, Noah and Mark Metzger, Nicole Grabowski and Lianna and Mariella Johnson.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Friday, January 6, from 5 to 7 P.M.
