Anthony Joseph Putnam, 5, of North Grafton, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was the cherished son of Cale Charles and Elizabeth Marie (Papp) Putnam.
Born on April 9, 2018, Anthony was a bright, loving and exceedingly kind and compassionate 5-year-old who brought joy and smiles to everyone whose lives he touched. He loved to meet new people and would always strike up conversations with strangers on his many adventures with his mommy. He had an inquisitive nature that drove him to learn about every facet of life and always question why or how things worked. He loved dinosaurs, space, monster trucks, baking with mommy, and playing games with daddy. He was a Cub Scout and member of the Good Shepherd Sunday School, North Grafton Elementary School, and Boroughs YMCA communities. The light he brought to the world will never be replaced.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother Nancy Ellen Papp of Marlborough, and his paternal grandparents, Frederick Charles and Deborah Alida Putnam of South Boston; his great-grandmother Marie Anne “Mimie” Anéme Papp, Newtown, CT; aunts and uncles, Joseph Claude and Judith Papp of Westford, and Gregory and Allison Alida Bradford of Jamaica Plain; his cousins Anna, Clara and Daniel Papp, and Willow Bradford; and countless friends and relatives.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Claude Anthony Papp, who died in 2003.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, January 18, in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 183 West Main Street, Westborough.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Friday, January 19, in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Westborough.
