Auli (Ruutikainen) Lamsa, 93, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021 at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleborough. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Toivo Lamsa, who died in 1995.
Born in Muhos, Finland on November 17, 1927, the daughter of the late Mikko and Enni Ruutikainen.
After graduating from the nursing program at the University of Helsinki, she moved to the U.S. She was a long term resident of Fitchburg and Worcester, MA, working at Burbank, Holden and UMASS Memorial Hospitals. More recently she was a resident of Westborough and Middleborough, MA.
She was much loved by her large family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Larry, Loraine, Anita, Arlene and Taina Lamsa; her daughter and sons in law Holly Dodge, Fred Mitchell, and Rob Billet; her grandchildren Eric Billet, Kelly Mitchell, Adam Billet and Emily Cavalier; and her great grandchildren Willow and George Waitkunas, Ari Billet, and Parker and Charlie Cavalier; and her nieces and nephews in Finland.
She is predeceased by her brothers Mikko and Erkki Ruutikainen
Her funeral service will be held privately on Friday, May 7, in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 183 W. Main St. Westborough, MA 01581.
