Barbara J. Migliozzi passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at UMASS Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lucy (Swift) Kleczka. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Hank Migliozzi and her son Richard B. Migliozzi.
She is survived by her sons, Mark S. Migliozzi and his wife Dianna of Westborough MA and David P. Migliozzi and his wife Tammy of Wesley Chapel FL her granddaughter Sara J. Migliozzi of Virginia Beach VA, her grandsons Andrew J. Migliozzi and his fiancée Rae Lynn Chambers of Mooresville NC and Anthony J. Migliozzi his wife Jill and her great granddaughter Della of Northborough MA, her sister Elizabeth A. Lapierre of Greenfield MA and her sister in law Jean Danckert of Statesville NC.
She was predeceased by her brother Donald Kleczka and his wife Corrine, sister in law Della Gordon, brother in laws Ralph Migliozzi, Norman Lapierre and John Danckert.
Barbara was born in Worcester MA and educated in the Worcester school system graduating from South High in 1945. She entered The Memorial Hospital School of Nursing graduating as an RN in 1948. She worked for many years at the Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She began her career in the Emergency ward and retired as the head nurse of the Coronary Intensive Care Unit.
Barbara loved Cape Cod and spent many family vacations at their home in Eastham, MA. In retirement Barbara and Hank enjoyed traveling in their RV visiting all 50 states and every province in Canada. They also spent two summers in Alaska. In their later year they would spend summers in Massachusetts and winters in Nokomis FL.
Barbara cherished her time with her family. She was an avid reader and loved working in her gardens and on various crafts.
Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough is in charge of arrangements. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Monday July 18th from 4 to 7 P.M.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough on Tuesday July 19th at 10:30 A.M. followed by burial at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and any donations be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Rd, Sterling MA 01564.
