Calvin R. Brown

WESTBOROUGH- Calvin R. Brown, 84, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at home. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. (Turner) Brown.

Born in Holliston, he was the son of the late Clifford and Laura Brown and was educated in Holliston schools.

During the Korean conflict he served with the United States Army.

Calvin worked for 20 years at Burke Auto Service in Ashland and recently worked as a maintenance mechanic at Wood Metal Finishing Co. in Holliston and Franklin prior to his retirement.

He was a skilled woodworker, an avid bird watcher and in earlier years had his private pilots license.

Calvin is survived by one son, Calvin R. Brown, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Brockton; one sister, Gloria Nussburger of Holliston; two grandsons, Nicholas Brown and his wife, Andrea and Stephen Brown and his wife, Kristen and his cherished great granddaughter, Maddison Brown.

He was the brother of the late Douglas Brown and Avis Adams.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 2:00 P.M. in the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
