Carol A. Lynch

WESTBOROUGH- Carol A. Lynch, 83, of Westborough, formerly of Worcester and Cotuit, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late James A. Lynch.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late John and Ann (Shields) Mathews. She was educated in Worcester schools and was a graduate of Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Lynch was employed as a Registered Nurse at Worcester City Hospital for many years, retiring in 1980. Following her retirement she volunteered for St. Vincent De Paul Society in Cotuit.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Westborough and while residing in Worcester and Cotuit attended Christ the King Parish’s. She was a member of the Worcester City Hospital Alumni Association and has resided in Westborough for over six years.

Carol is survived by her four children, Stephen A. Lynch and his wife, Kathleen, of Holden, John F. Lynch and his wife, Josee, of Saugus, James R. Lynch and his wife, Peg, of Hamden, CT and Ann E. Power and her husband, Bob, of Westborough; nine grandchildren, Steve Lynch, Meg Lynch, Kerry Lynch, Jim Lynch, Patrick Lynch, Sean Lynch, Elizabeth Power, Tom Power and Mike Power.

She was pre deceased by her son, Thomas J. Lynch, her sister Mary James, and brothers, Robert Mathews, her twin, and James Mathews and John Mathews.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Whitney Place, Beaumont and Salmon Hospice Group for the wonderful care provided to Carol.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 25, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Interment will be held privately in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.

Calling hours are Wednesday, July 24, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
