Connie worked for 20 years as a Subject Matter Expert in information technology working with cancer research doctors at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. She was the creator, owner, and operator of her own business, Connie's Ceramic Cubbyhole, which allowed her to share her love for ceramics with neighborhood children and friends. Her memberships and volunteer work included Tampa Bay Newcomers (stitchery and troop support); Meadow Point II Recreation Committee; M.I. Connie had numerous interests, hobbies, and passions, including: mother to six schipperke’s: 3T’s, Roxy, Thunder, Skye, Maverick, Bailee and grandmother to Storm, River, Brady and Canon; discovering who she was and her family history through genealogy; traveling the world and discovering new places: Germany, Bermuda, Galapagos, Scotland, Netherlands, Italy, Hawaii, Barbados, US (visited 47 of the 50 states) and Canada; collecting M.I. Hummel figurines (over 200) and artwork; vacationing at the Burr family home on Nubanusit Lake in New Hampshire; staying fit and socializing with friends at water aerobics; walking the beach to collect sand and shells; and road trips with Kris and Scott to NASCAR races or places related to her genealogy research.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Burr and her sister, Bonnie Burr Lever. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Kris Kiefer; son, Scott; daughter Keri Riegler and her husband Jeff Riegler; niece, Nicole Gonsalves; and grandniece, Olivia Gonsalves.

She will be laid to rest at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough, MA. Connie’s Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Tampa at a later date.
