In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Christopher Nelson and wife Mary of Orono, Maine, his daughter Kimberly Nelson and fiancé Gary D’Agostino of Franklin, and his grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephen and Antonio.  He is also survived by six siblings, Linda Dowden and husband Charles of Fultondale, Alabama, Martha Nelson and Elias Zananieri of York, Maine, Susan Wilkinson and husband David of Hudson, Scott Nelson, Jr. of Block Island, Rhode Island, Joseph Nelson and wife Marlene of Murphy, North Carolina and Richard Nelson and wife Lee Ann of Sanford, North Carolina, as well as a very special cousin Betsy Stevens of Hopkinton and many nieces and nephews.  David also leaves his cat, Patches, whom he adored, and Major, their 37-year old Senegal Parrot.
