Diana Vivian (Randall) Wheeler Kwiatkowski

Diana Kwiatkowski passes away at her home of 57 years in Westborough, Mass. on May 30, 2021, with her daughter and many of her nieces and nephews by her side.

Diana was born October 30, 1933 in Hopedale, Mass., to Lillian Alice D. (Stephenson) and Gladstone Reud Randall of New Brunswick, Canada. She was twin to brother Dana Vincent Randall of Worcester who also recently passed away.

In her early years Diana lived in Hopedale, Milford, and Worcester. In the close knit neighborhoods of Worcester she met her future husband Ralph at a young age. When they married in 1961 the clans of Randall and Kwiatkowski merged. In 1964 Diana and Ralph moved to Westborough and their white ranch was soon piled high with brothers, sisters, "in-laws", cousins, friends, often with the furniture moved for dancing, loud music, kids sleeping in the back yard, and the bathtub filled with  lobsters and clams headed for the pot. The neighboring cows never seemed to mind the goings on, but were grateful for the bags of sweet corn husks the kids brought them. Holidays brought more family fun, and always her fabulous apple pies.

Diana loved escorted tours of any length, near or far, traveling often with Ralph or Carol. Preservation Worcester or any sort of historical walks and talks along with horticultural and flower shows were her "must do's". Art, craft, and museum exhibits, antique-ing, and country fairs were all great fun for Diana. Her house was filled with a combination of bluegrass and country western (Ralph), and classical, bagpipe, and Scottish/Celtic tunes (Diana), making for an unusual mix.

Preceding Diana in death were her husband of 48 years, Ralph, son Dane Bruce Wheeler, sisters Lillian Grace Howe, Phonsbe Eldred King, and brothers Dana Vincent, Cedric Reud, Chauncey Fenwick, and Chesley Gladstone Randall.

Diana is survived by her loving daughter, Carol, who cared for her for many years with encouragement and humor.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Adam, Jessica, and Seth Cruickshank, and Sarah and Aaron Wheeler, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks are given to the Meals on Wheels volunteers who so greatly brightened her days with their smiles, small chat, and especially sharing photos of their children. Diana’s daughter’s enduring respect goes to the Westborough Fire, Police and Rescue Teams.

A wake for Diana will be held at Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, on Saturday, June 5, 2-4 p.m. with Father Michael McKinnon of Trinity Anglican Church officiating a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Private burial will follow.

Please join the family afterwards, beginning at 4:30, for refreshments and light fare at Tavolino Restaurant, 33 East Main St. (Bay State Commons), Westborough.
