WESTBOROUGH- Donald D. Taylor, 81, of Westborough, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Joan K. (Kay) Taylor whom he married on July 7, 1953.
Born in Worcester on March 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maud (Halstead) Taylor. He was educated in Worcester and was a graduate of Worcester Junior College. He also attended St. Matthews Church in Worcester.
During the Korean Conflict he served with the U. S. Army.
Don worked for Crompton and Knowles Co., Rex Nord and was an executive for Wolverine Corp. in Methuen prior to his retirement.
He was a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and a member of Siloam Lodge AF & AM in Westborough. He enjoyed golf, woodworking and performing with the Westborough Players Club in “How to Succeed†and “Hello Dollyâ€. He and Joan traveled the world over and enjoyed time spent at their homes in Brewster, MA and Estero, FL but especially loved returning home to Westborough.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lissa T. Westerman and her husband, David, of Chantilly, VA, Pamela A. Taylor and her husband, Edward Maynard, of Colorado Springs, CO and five grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Westerman and Nell, Ned and Hannah Maynard. Don took pride in their adventures.
Services and interment will be private.
