Dorenda S. Rice

Dorenda S. Rice, 99, passed peacefully away January 2, 2022 after a period of declining health.  Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, daughter of David and Leah (Larter) Stewart, she lived most of her life in Woodville, MA, graduating from Hopkinton High School in June of 1940.  Her husband of 62 years, Alden Rice passed away in 2003.  She was also predeceased by sons, Howard and Joel Rice.  She leaves her daughter Ethel Temple of Westborough, and daughter-in-law Martha Pratt-Rice of Warwick, MA, as well as 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, knitting and crocheting.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11 at 1:00 P.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West main St., Westborough. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Woodville, MA.  A calling hour will precede the service from 12 to 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hopkinton Food Bank, P.O. Box 36, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
