WESTBOROUGH- Dorothy A. “Dotty†Erickson, 82, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Hospital, Worcester, after a brief illness.
Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Carter) Hackett. She was educated in Westborough schools and was a 1949 graduate of Westborough High School.
Dorothy was employed as a Customer Service Representative at Worcester County National Bank and then Shawmut Bank prior to her retirement.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, she enjoyed playing Bingo, gardening and was an avid reader.
Dorothy is survived by her seven children, Kaye L. Cottle and her husband, Artie, of Shrewsbury, June L. Hillier of Westborough, Jack J. Erickson and his wife, Linda, of N. Grafton, James B. Erickson, Sr. and his wife, Gayle, of Westborough, Lois A. Flagg and her husband, Randy, of Worcester, Thomas E. Erickson and his wife, Jane, of Shrewsbury and Karl N. Erickson and his wife, Melissa, of Westborough; 16 grandchildren, Bob and Sean Cottle, Tim and Dan Charland, Angela, David, Michelle and April Erickson, Chrissy, James Jr. and Laura Erickson, Matt Flagg, Nicole and Stephanie Erickson, Scott, Alexa and Cameron Erickson; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Shane, Charlotte, Logan, Benjamin and baby Michael due in January.
She was pre deceased by a son Craig E. Erickson, a son in law, Craig Hillier and three brothers and three sisters.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Tuesday, November 12, from 4 to 8 P.M.
