Dorothy J. Grubba, 87, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 3, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Donald C. Grubba.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Wilk) Kot. She was educated in Worcester schools and was a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
During the Korean Conflict she served with the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps.
Dot was employed as a registered nurse at the Westborough Nursing Home for 15 years prior to her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, a member of the prayer shawl ministry and an active participant at adoration. She was also a member of the Westborough Garden Club and the Alumni Association at Memorial Hospital.
Dot is survived by her five children, Donald Grubba, Jr., of Hilton Head, SC, Susan Rice of Dover, Michael Grubba of Concord, OH, Patrice Giller of Swampscott and Laurie Diamond of Wellesley; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Andrew Kot.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Following services at the cemetery the family would like to extend an invitation to join them at the parish hall for a time of refreshments.
