WESTBOROUGH – Dorothy F. “Dot” Stec, 82, of Westborough, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at the UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Campus. She was the wife of the late Stanley F. Stec.

Born in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie (Patereck) Chmielowiec. She was educated in Passaic and was a graduate of Passaic High School.

Dot was employed as an accounts payable clerk for Chester Calvert Agency then for Norton Chem Plast both in New Jersey prior to her retirement.

She was an active communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church where she served the Prayer Shawl Ministry, the Dismas House Ministry and volunteered for the Martha’s and Mary’s. She was also an active volunteer at the Westborough Senior Center. In addition she belonged to the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church Columbiettes in New Jersey.

Dot is survived by her four children, Donald Stec and his wife, Debbie, of Locust Grove, GA, Kathleen Slawsky and her husband, Jeff, of Westborough, David Stec of Reno, NV and Kenneth Stec and his girlfriend, Aimee, of Westborough; eight grandchildren, Ryan Stec and his wife, Allison, Kate Sulham and her husband, Doug, Jenna Stec, Andrew Slawsky, Holly Stec, Lauren Slawsky, Jessica Stec and Melissa Stec; two great grandchildren, Brady Stec and Lucy Sulham and several loving nieces and nephews.

Dot is also survived by many loving friends, both near and far whose lives she touched through her lifelong belief in Family, Faith and Friends.

She was the sister of the late Stella Liptak, John Chmielowiec and Adam Chmielowiec.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will be held on Tuesday at 12 Noon in Christ the King Cemetery, 980 Huron Rd., Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, May 5, from 2 to 5 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Luke’s Prayer Shawl and Dismas House Parish Outreach Ministries, 70 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581
