WESTBOROUGH- Douglas A. Gravlin, Jr., 63, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was the husband of Sharon A. (Parker) Gravlin.

Born in Lowell, he is the son of Elizabeth (Byam) Gravlin of Chelmsford and the late Douglas A. Gravlin. He was educated in Acton/Boxboro schools.

During the Vietnam Era he served with the U. S. Navy.

Doug was employed as a truck driver for Frank Golden Trucking in Grafton and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Doug especially enjoyed fishing with his nephews, David and Michael Gravlin and good friend Ernie Brown.

A big thank you to our very good friend Lee Hildreth, for all his help, care and understanding when Doug was sick. Thank you to UMass Medical staff for all the great care they gave him.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a step-daughter, LeeAnn Desmarais and her husband, Rob, grandchildren, Alyssa Desmarais, Ashley Desmarais and Katlyn Marie Gravlin; three sons, Douglas Gravlin, Gregory Gravlin and David Gravlin; two sisters, Linda Gravlin and Judy Gravlin and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Jeffrey, David and Dennis Gravlin. He also leaves his two best buddies, Reba and Jode.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 10:00 A.M. in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.  Interment will be private.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, December 5, from 5 to 7 P.M.
