Earl H. Storey, Jr.

WESTBOROUGH

Earl “Henry” Storey, Jr., 77, a lifelong resident of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Earl died after a courageous battle against leukemia, during which he fought with unwavering optimism and determination. He was the devoted husband of Kathleen M. (Colby) Storey.

Born in Worcester, Earl was the son of the late Earl and Catherine (O’Laughlin) Storey. Raised and educated in Westborough, he was a proud 1966 graduate of Westborough High School.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Jessica M. Padula of Grafton, Matthew W. Storey and his wife, Joni, of Upton and Katherine M. Rossi and her husband, Jeffrey, of Southborough: two sisters, Judy Mickelson of Westborough and Kim Roche of Westborough and three grandchildren, Bella Padula, Violet Padula and Connor Henry Storey. 

He was predeceased by his son, Earl Storey, III. As well as his sisters, Diane Millet, Jo-Anne Johnston and Jane Mickelson.

Earl began his career with E.L. Harvey and Sons before owning and operating Tidy Town and Storey Landscaping. Later, he served as the Leadsman for the Parks and Recreation Division for the Town of Westborough, a role he embraced with great pride and dedication.

Above all else, Earl found his greatest joy and inspiration in the love he shared with his wife and the strong, meaningful relationships he treasured with his family. A proud resident of Westborough, Earl deeply cherished his hometown. His passion for the community was evident in his work and countless hours of volunteering on local committees, always striving to enhance the town he loved so dearly. Earl’s committed dedication to Westborough and its people left a lasting mark on his home community.

Earl had many interests and talents. An avid car enthusiast and proud member of Central Mass Drag Racing, he found immense joy in building and racing cars. Beyond his mechanical pursuits, Earl was a dedicated friend of Bill W.

Earl had an exceptional ability to see the silver lining in every situation. With a kind word, a warm smile, or a helping hand, he uplifted those around him and demonstrated the true spirit of community and family.

Earl’s legacy lives on through his loving family and the countless lives he touched. He leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting example of how to live with purpose, compassion, and an open heart.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 27, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.

Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, January 26, from 2 to 6 P.M.
