WESTBOROUGH- Edith J. Hogan, 97, passed away peacefully at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, March 23, 2012. She was the wife of the late William J. Hogan.
Born in Stevensville, VT, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alida (Amyreault) Short. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Lowell and from the Westborough State Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Hogan was employed as a Registered Nurse at Westborough State Hospital for many years prior to her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and a member of St. Luke’s Senior Adults and a former member of the Westborough Women’s Club.
Edith is survived by two sons, William J. Hogan, Jr. and his wife, Judith, of Chicago, Illinois and Dr. Peter E. Hogan and his wife, Jan, of Marietta, Ohio; one sister, Theresa Dionne of Dracut; four grandchildren, Matthew Hogan, Kevin Hogan, Christopher Hogan and Katherine “Annie†Gardner and two great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Marguerite Brown, Rita Roucher and Marie Maddocks.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 30, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Thursday, March 29, from 4 to 7 P.M.
