Edna A. Akdikmen, 85, died after a long illness on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
At the time of her death she was surrounded by her loved ones, her two daughters, Suzan and Lisa and her son David.
Edna was born in Medellin, Columbia and was the daughter of Maria and Martin Acevedo. She lived most of her life in Albany, New York. She worked as a real estate agent and property manager. She was married to Sehabettin Akdikmen (predeceased 2008), a Doctor of Anesthesiology at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY.
She is survived by one son, David N. Akdikmen and his wife, Sandy, of Westborough; two daughters, Suzan Akdikmen of Albany, NY and Lisa Akdikmen of Worcester; three brothers, Hiam Levi of FL, Leon Acevedo of NY and Martin Acevedo of Ashland; one sister, Niny Christensen. She was a loving grandmother to three grandchildren, Alex, Ian and Isabel Akdikmen.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30, at 1:30 P.M. in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 29, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
