Edward F. Mcmanus

Edward F. McManus, 83, of Westborough passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, peacefully at home.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Gagen) McManus. He was raised and educated in Framingham and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Edward was a serial entrepreneur and president of several businesses in the transportation and real estate industries.

He attended St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a life member of Framingham Elks Lodge and a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He had a lifelong love of the sea, was an avid boater and fisherman and played many sports, including basketball, tennis and golf. Playing guitar and singing is how many will remember him – whether on the back of the boat, the deck of the cottage or at a gathering of family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Susan E. Faherty and her husband, Gerald, of Westborough, Scott C. McManus and his husband, David Connolly, of Plymouth and Matthew F. McManus and his wife, Kimberly, of Concord and six grandchildren, Brianna, Emily, Cara, Ted, Meghan, and Patrick.

He was predeceased by his brother, Brian McManus.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 28, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, December 27, from 5 to 7 P.M.
