On June 11, 2023, Edward Eugene Richardson III, with Meredith, his wife of 54 years, at his side, passed peacefully following a brief illness.
Born in Worcester, he spent most of his life in Westborough and Marion, MA. Educated at the Bancroft Elementary School in Worcester, Middlesex Preparatory School in Concord and obtained an BA from Babson College. He later served in the United States Air National Guard.
More commonly known as "Ted", he was the son of the late Edward Jr. and Dorothy (Ramsdell) Richardson. Ted was known for both his mechanical and metalsmith abilities. As well as his ability to fix anything.
He participated twice in the Mille Miglia, a 1000 mile car race through Italy. He was known for his love of vintage cars and motorcycles, having restored a number of each over the years. He also competed in numerous Enduro's throughout New England on his classic Indian or Bultaco dirt bikes.
Ted was a loving husband and father and enjoyed a happy marriage of nearly 54 years. He was the cool father driving kids to school on his motorcycle.
Ted was predeceased by his son, Michael Hardina, and leaves behind his wife, Meredith (Fernald) Richardson, and daughters Katherine Cogswell and Gretchen Hardina, along with four grandchildren. Agustin, Marisa, Jamie and Jason Hardina and a daughter-in-law Pamela Hardina.
Services will be held privately with his family.
