WESTBOROUGH- Elizabeth L. Hawes, 89, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She was the wife of the late Irvin E. Hawes.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura (Nichols) Perron and was educated in Westborough schools.
Elizabeth was employed as a clerk at Wal-Mart and Rachelle’s prior to her retirement. She also previously worked as a waitress at the Eli Whitney House and in the kitchen at Bay State Abrasives.
She was a member of the Westborough Senior Center and enjoyed making hooked rugs.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice K. Smith and her husband, Brian, of Auburn; one son, Kenneth I. Hawes of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Dorothy Collins of Westborough; sister in law, Bunny Perron of Westborough; two grandchildren, Julie Kender and Melissa Smith; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Walter Perron and Fred Perron.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, at 2:00 P.M. in Pine Grove Cemetery, South St., Westborough. There are no calling hours.
