WESTBOROUGH. — Enid (Craig) Seaver, 89, of Westborough, died on June 28, 2012 at home. She was the wife of Richard F. Seaver, who died in 2004.

Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Arlington Craig, Jr. and Clara Louise (Taylor) Craig. She was educated in the Fairhaven and South Dartmouth, Mass., schools. She also attended Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and Boston University.

She had a lifelong interest in music, and was an accomplished singer in her youth. Growing up near the water, she was a sailor, and met her husband-to-be when she found his sailboat washed up on the rocks in Padanaram harbor after the 1938 hurricane. The couple was married on 20 November, 1943, and they started out married life North Carolina, where her husband was stationed with the Marines.

She was a full-time homemaker, as four children came along and the family moved from Padanaram to Medfield to Sterling to Somerset, and finally to Westborough, all in Mass. She moved to The Willows at Westborough in 2005, where she enjoyed walking daily, playing poker and pool, and interviewing new residents in order to write their bios for the in-house magazine, The Wind in the Willows.

She was a member of the Congregational Church, Westborough.

She is survived by three sons, Craig R. Seaver of Estes Park, CO, Bruce A. Seaver of Norton, MA, and Mark R. Seaver of Farmington, NH; one daughter, Faith S. Sheridan of Madbury, NH; seven grandchildren, Scott Seaver, Jason Seaver, Elena Johnson, Erin Blazek, Jessica Foster, Emily Seaver and Benjamin Sheridan, as well as eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Dornan S. Craig, of Venice FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, July 8, at 1:00 P.M. in the Community Room at The Willows, 1 Lyman St., Westborough, followed by a brief Memorial Service and light refreshments.

Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
