Francis E. “Spanky” Miller, 95, of Millbury, formerly of Westborough, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was the husband of June F. (Caracciolo) Miller.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Sistito) Miller and was educated in Worcester Schools.
During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Army.
Spanky was employed for the Westborough DPW for many years prior to his retirement. Prior to working for the DPW he was employed as a construction worker for A. J. Lane.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and was a member of the VFW Post 9013.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Robert Miller and his wife, Arlene, of Las Vegas, Pamela Thibeault and her husband, Larry, of Shrewsbury, Michelle Lyden and her husband, Richard, of S. Grafton and John Miller and his wife, Cathy, of Millbury; one brother, Robert Miller of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Heather Thibeault, John Patrick Thibeault, Jonathan Miller, Jennifer Zamora, Christina Zuniga, Troy Lyden, Brooke Lyden and Zachary Miller, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Doris Caruso, Harold Miller, Paul Miller and Richard Miller.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 14, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Thursday, July 13, from 4 to 6 P.M.
