Frederick F. Goebel, 81, of North Brunswick, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA. He was the husband of the late Mary Lou (Jebo) Goebel.
Born in Newark, NJ he was the son of the late Frederick and Kathryn (Sonnick) Goebel. He was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ. He also attended and graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, NY.
Mr. Goebel spent the majority of his career in the oil industry working for many years as a civil engineer for Coastal Oil in New Jersey prior to his retirement.
Fred was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in N. Brunswick.
He is survived by four children, Frederick F. Goebel and his wife, Tracy, of Kittyhawk, NC, Gregory A. Goebel and his wife, Mary Lynn, of Oak Harbor, WA, William D. Goebel and his wife, Cheryl, of Westborough and Karyn L. Leigh-Manuell of Glenallen, VA; one brother, Robert J. Goebel and his wife, Joan, of Chesterfield, VA; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by two daughters, Catherine Erath and Donna Castiglione and one sister, Janet Dunshee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, November 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
