Gary Fugere, 78, of Worcester, MA passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at UMass Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was predeceased by his parents Donald (Bunny) Fugere and Maud (Parker) Fugere. Also predeceased by his grandparents Amos Fugere and Aurelia Catherine Murry and Charles Parker and Edith (Pluffe) Parker.
His brother Donald Joseph Fugere and his son Paul David Fugere predeceased him.
He leaves his wife Theresa (Belisle) Fugere after 58 years of marriage. He leaves his sister Catherine (Penny) Rivera of Worcester.
Gary’s family includes one daughter Arlana Sikora and spouse Andrew and one son Henry Fugere.
His grandchildren include Bryttanni Fugere and husband Joseph Dayter, Sean, Dylan. And David Fugere, Trisha Fugere, Stephanie, Ashley, and Isabella Sikora.
His great grandchildren include Joseph Matthew Dayter Jr, Jayson Paul -Kane Dayter and Jaxxon Gary Dayter. Serena and Kobe Walley and Shayla and Miguel Baez.
He retired from E L Harvey’s Recycling in Westboro in 2012. His hobbies were vegetable gardening, agricultural fairs and genealogy. Gary has been to fifteen fairs in eight states. He has visited the Big E in West Springfield 50 years in a row.
He has researched genealogy for over 50 years finding his ancestors
Include pilgrims of the Mayflower and Salem witches including Rebecca Nurse and her sisters.
There will be no calling hours and a private burial.
