WESTBOROUGH- George A. Perry, III, 66, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Campus in Worcester. He was the husband of Donna M. (Benoit) Perry.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late George and Priscilla (Balnis) Perry. He was educated in Westborough schools and entered the U.S. Army at the age of 18. He served in the Army for eight years with active duty in Vietnam. Following his service with the U. S. Army he enlisted with the U. S. Air Force where he served for 38 years retiring as Chief Senior Master Sergeant.
George has served as the Veteran’s Agent for the Town of Westborough for many years and more recently for the towns of Shrewsbury, Grafton and Northborough.
He was a member and past Commander of the VFW Post 9013, a member of the American Legion and the disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Hartley Erickson of Westborough, four daughters, Dawn Williams of Norwich, CT, Karen Erickson of Westborough, Paula Erickson of Westborough and Heather Wykes of Grafton; two brothers, Robert Perry and his partner, Sandra Devaney, of Mashpee and Ronald Perry and his wife, Cindy, of Charlton; four sisters, Mary Fey of Kentucky, Tina Benoit and her husband, Charles, of Brasher Falls, NY, Pamela Smeagle of Westborough and Debra King and her husband, Raymond, of Oxford; his mother-in-law, Mary Benoit of Westborough. He also leaves six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Joseph Perry and brother of the late Joseph Perry.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with full Military Honors, will follow in the Veteran’s Grove of Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, April 16, from 4 to 8 P.M.
