Harry P. Hooper, of Needham, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2023, in Framingham, MA; he was 79 years old.

Harry was born on May 23, 1944, son of the late Thomas Jasper Hooper and Wilhelmina (Hutchins) Kimball, and grew up in Westborough and Needham, MA. Harry attended Needham High School and UMASS-Amherst, and worked as a courier and van driver for persons with disabilities.

He spent his summers as a young man working in Mashpee, and cherished this time on Cape Cod. A deeply kind man and devout Catholic with a sharp sense of humor, Harry enjoyed spending time with his family, reading the Boston Globe and books about history and mysteries, and sherbert. An expert on Massachusetts history, Harry also loved walking and watching the birds and other animals that migrated through his yard.

Harry’s family included his brothers, the late Donald Hooper and Thomas Bradlee Hooper. Harry is survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Hooper of Cambridge, MA; his niece Alexandra Athos of Harvard, MA and her children Gwyneth and Nicholas; and his nephew Thomas Joseph Hooper of Milton, MA and his wife Lisa and children Thomas and Emeline.

A private funeral for Harry’s family was held in September of 2023, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough, MA.
