James M. Rogers, 58, of Westborough, died on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was the husband of Sara L. (Strecker) Rogers.
Born in Putnam, CT he was the son of the late Wilfred and Lucielle (Lamoureux) Rogers. He was educated in Thompson, CT schools and was a graduate of Tourtellotte High School. Following graduation he entered and served with the United States Army.
Jim worked as a residential counselor at the Evergreen Center in Milford. Previously he was employed as the manager of Lincoln Liquors and worked as a clerk at White Hen Pantry.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 33 and was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Matthew W. Rogers and James S. Rogers both of Westborough; one daughter, Rebecca Sanborn Grover of Gardner; one brother, David Rogers of Thompson, CT; one sister, Elaine Ducharme of Thompson, CT and his wife’s parents, Richard and Anne Strecker of Westborough.
He was the brother of the late Patricia Benson, Robert Rogers and Donald Rogers.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, August 23, from 2 to 5 P.M.
