WESTBOROUGH- John W. Allan, 68, of Westborough, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare- University Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness. He was the husband of Gloria L. (Alarcon) Allan to whom he was married for 43 years.

Born in Raleigh, NC, he was the son of the late William and Lillian (Sullivan) Allan. He was educated at the Academy of the Assumption School in Wellesley Hills and graduated from BC High School. He also attended Mass Bay Community College and graduated from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA.

During the Vietnam Era he served with the U.S. Army.

John was currently employed as the night auditor at the Residence Inn in Framingham. Previously he owned his own business, Coast To Coast Sales Recruiters and also was employed as a manager for Revlon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tiffany C. Allan; two brothers, Michael Allan and William Allan; one sister, Patricia McNeil; a brother-in-law, Roy Alarcon and his wife, Julie; five nieces, Jessica Lioi, Cara McNeil, Lea Slaughter, Amanda Allan and Christine Alarcon; four nephews, Scott Allan, Brian McNeil, Kiel Alarcon and Bret Alarcon. He was pre-deceased by one nephew, Jonathan Allan.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 11, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Monday, March 10, from 4 to 7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Church Memorial Fund, 70 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581
