WESTBOROUGH- John E. Concaugh, 88, of Westborough, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was the husband of Mary K. (McDonald) Concaugh.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Patrick and Susan (McNiff) Concaugh. He was a 1941 graduate of Westborough High School, following high school he attended the New England Aircraft School.
During WW II he served with the U.S. Navy.
In 1950 he graduated from the College of the Holy Cross earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
John worked as an Accountant for Wyman-Gordon for 20 years and then became a Probation Officer at the Westborough District Court retiring in 1993.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and a member of the VFW. He previously served as Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and as the Civil Defense Director for the Town of Westborough.
As a strong athlete, John was a sports enthusiast enjoying all sports.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four daughters, Susan E. Hoffman and her husband, Stephen, of Hopkinton, Kelly A. Kimball of Westborough, Geralyn M. Concaugh of Westborough and Moira C. Concaugh of Grafton; one sister, Margaret Gure of Westborough and three grandchildren, Caitlin and Emily Hoffman and Jessica Kimball.
John was predeceased by three brothers, James Concaugh, Joseph Concaugh and William Concaugh.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Sunday, June 10, from 2 to 4 P.M.
