SHREWSBURY- Joseph A. Tisdell, 80, of Northborough, formerly of Westborough and Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Knollwood Nursing Center in West Boylston. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Silver) Tisdell.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Norman and Mildred (Roach) Tisdell. He was educated in Worcester schools and graduated from high school in Heidelberg, Germany.
Joseph was employed as a sales representative and manager for the transportation industry for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in Southborough and was a former member of St. Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury. He was a life member of Adelphi Council #4181, Knights of Columbus, enjoyed golf and refinishing furniture.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Joseph Tisdell of Shrewsbury, John Tisdell of Worcester and James Tisdell of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Dorothy Rhieu of Worcester, Mildred Pedro of New York, Dianne Driscoll of Holden and 13 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Norman Tisdell, Jr. and Shirley Turning.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Knollwood Nursing Center and to the Summit Elder Care for the excellent care they provided for Joe.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 19, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew’s Church, 18 Highland St., Southborough. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, prior to the funeral.
