Judith Ann Gutherz, 82, of Charlestown, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024 surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late John A. Gutherz for 59 Years.

Born in Greenwich, CT she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Paulposki) Capcik. She was raised in Greenwich, attended the University of Tampa and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design.

She is survived by three children, Heidi Hostetter of MD, John Gutherz, Jr. of NH, and Heather Furfari and her husband, Peter, of Wrentham, MA. Lovingly known as “Gammy”, she leaves three grandchildren, Benjamin Furfari, Elizabeth Furfari, and Hannah Hostetter.

During her working days in New Jersey, Judith was employed as a Sales Manager for AT&T for many years prior to her retirement and move to Charlestown, RI to be closer to family.

She was fortunate to make cherished family memories and long-lasting friendships during these retirement years. She just loved the beach, warmth of the summer sunshine, and tending to her extensive gardens.

It’s also in Charlestown RI where she continued to flourish and grow her hobbies, activities, and passions of both life and faith. She was a Master Gardener through the University of Rhode Island, belonged to book clubs, enjoyed sailing, knitting, reading, and was a communicant of St. James Chapel in Charlestown.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Judith’s funeral Mass, which will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00AM at St. James Chapel located at 2079 Matunuck School House Rd. in Charlestown, RI.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
