WESTBOROUGH- June Gum, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at her son’s home in Oxford after a battle with lung cancer and dementia.
June is survived by her sister, Phyllis Morcone and her husband, Donald, of Westborough. She also leaves behind her brother Sonny Powell of Sterling. June also leaves behind her son Mark and his wife Karen of Westborough, her son Wayne and his wife Debby of Oxford. Her son Gary, from Westborough, predeceased her. June also leaves behind seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. June also leaves behind her special companion for many years, Precious the cat, she adored him with all her heart.
June was well known in Westborough for many years as a waitress at Friendly’s Restaurant. She also owned the Center Café in Westborough Center.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 11, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist, 70 West Main St., Westborough, followed by a gathering at St. Luke’s Parish Hall. Burial in St. Luke’s Cemetery will be at a later date.
