Karen M. Daniel

Karen M. Daniel, 76, of Ormond Beach, FL, and formerly of Westborough, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of 25 years to John A. Daniel.

Born in Somerville, MA, she was a daughter of the late Phillip McGowan and Elsie (Schlesinger) Boraks, and was raised and educated in Somerville, MA.

Prior to retirement, Karen was employed as a Senior Administrator for several high-tech computer firms.

Karen was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, decorating and crafting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kristin O’Brien and her husband John, of Ormond Beach, FL; Gregory McRae and his wife Lane, of Millbury; her step-children, Tracy Daniel of Wells, VT, and Jason Daniel of Wells, VT; her grandchildren Emma McRae, Samantha McRae, Dalton McRae and Finnegan McRae; siblings Lois McDonald, Phyllis Savage, Nancy Boraks, Barry Boraks and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brothers Peter McGowan, Gordon Boraks and a sister Joan Mazmanian.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 1, at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St. Westborough.  Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Westborough.

Calling hours are from 4 to 6 P.M. on Wednesday, January 31, in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St. Westborough.
