Kathleen Mary Farrar, 63, passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2024. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Jeffrey and Jillian, Daniel and Lauren, Nicholas and Cassandra, her son Michael, as well as former husband David Farrar. Her legacy continues through her cherished granddaughters; Sadie, Lucy, Colette, Savannah and grand-dog Bain. Her siblings and their families; Michael, Eurice, Evan and Maya Henning, Eileen, John, Emma and Jack Curtis, Jane Henning and Joanne and Tom Sueta. She was predeceased by her parents John and Carole Henning, who undoubtedly welcomed their “baby doll” with a loving embrace and a song played on the piano by her dad.
A devoted mother above all else, Kathy's boundless love showed in her daily calls, texts, and gentle guilt trips if anyone missed checking in. Her caring nature extended to her career as both a nurse and EMT, always putting others first. Through years of raising four active boys, she accumulated what she lovingly called "battle scars of love" - broken ribs, broken toes, and countless bruises. She became an expert of all sports, never missing any of her sons' games.
Kathy enjoyed the finer things in life: Pepsi, Barbara Streisand, Cher, Rocky movies, singing with her sisters, getting into trouble with her lifelong friend Nicole Sharrigan-Kissane and most importantly, time with family. Her perseverance, strength, and humor remained steadfast until her final days.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff at The Reservoir Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Marlborough, whose compassionate care made Kathy feel loved during her final transition from this life to the next.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9, 10:30 A.M., at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main Street, Westborough, followed by burial at St. Luke's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to your favorite charity. Alternatively, honor Kathy's memory by spending time with family, sharing laughter, and calling your mom to say "I love you."
She was the world's best Mom and will be forever loved and missed.
