HOPKINTON- Lorna R. Coen, 60, of Hopkinton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 30, 2015. She was the wife of Thomas P. Coen.
Born in Boston, she is the daughter of Alan and Patricia (Woodis) Wood. She was raised and educated in Lexington and was a 1972 graduate of Lexington High School. She was also a graduate of Somerville Hospital School of Nursing in 1975.
Lorna worked at Massachusetts General Hospital as an open-heart recovery nurse. Following her time at Mass. General she worked as a clinical specialist for a heart monitoring company prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Westborough and has been a resident of Hopkinton for ten years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her two children, Shayla M. Works and her husband, Thomas, of Leominster and Sean T. Coen of Worcester; two brothers, Randall Wood and his wife, Mary, of Marlborough and Bradford Wood of Sudbury; two grandchildren, Thomas Works, III and Hannah Works and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alan Wood, Jr.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, at 10:30 A.M. in The First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will be private.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Tuesday, February 3, from 4 to 7 P.M.
