Lorraine F. (Malinoski) Fitzgerald, 64, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of Michael “Mike” T. Fitzgerald, to whom she was married for 23 years.

Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dora (Frigon) Malinoski and received an Associates Degree from Fisher Jr. College.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed by Data General for many years as a tape librarian and recently retired from State Street’s disaster and recovery department that was located in Westborough.

She was a communicant of the Church of St. Luke the Evangelist, enjoyed shopping, crocheting, reading and spending time with her friends.  Lorraine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.  She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her gentle loving way, her sense of humor and her zest for life.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Eileen F. Moss and her partner, Brian Bean of Westborough; one son, Karl Meyer, also of Westborough; and her grandchildren, Taytum and Parker.  She also leaves a brother, Leonard H. Malinoski and his wife, Sandra, of Bernardston, MA and her devoted niece, Linda A. Tumeinski and her husband, Curtis, of Westborough, MA.  She was the sister of the late Robert J. Malinoski who died in 1981.  Many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and one great grand niece also survive her.  Lorraine’s dearly loved dog, Missy, and grand dogs, Tyson and Lola, will miss her.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 13, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough.  Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. 
 
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, will be held on Sunday, August 12, from 3 to 6 P.M.  Donations in her memory may be mailed to The American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004 or online.
