Marelyn Davis, 91, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Marelyn was born to her loving parents Evelyn and Jacob “Jack” Dana and siblings Eileen Wells and Eugene Dana; she carried their warmth and kindness with her throughout her life. In 1952, she married the love of her life; Frederick Davis, with whom they built a beautiful family together. Their bond was built on profound love and mutual respect and together they created decades of shared memories, laughter, and a deep connection. Their lives were filled with the simple joys of everyday moments including delicious meals, cherished adventures, and a shared love of fashion that reflected their unique style.
A woman of strength and unwavering dedication, Marelyn devoted much of her life to her family and her passion for her business, “Looking Good”. For 57 years, she worked alongside her husband Fred, building and nurturing their women’s accessories, health and beauty aid store. Her commitment to excellence, sharp eye for detail, and warm welcoming personality made Looking Good not just a business, but a place where relationships were forged and where clients became lifelong friends. Her work ethic and devotion to the business was matched only by her love for Fred; with whom she shared every step of the journey. Together, they created something truly special that will be remembered fondly for generations to come.
Marelyn was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kim McIver and her husband Brian McIver; a proud and adoring grandmother to her granddaughters Abigail McIver, Karlee Duran, her husband Nelson Duran, Nicole McIver and her fiancé Clayton Ward. She also had the great pleasure of watching her great-grandson Jayden Duran grow which brought a special light to her life.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity lives on through her family; who will continue to honor her memory in all that they do. Marelyn was known for her witty sense of humor, her unwavering support, and her incredible ability to make everyone around her feel special. Her life was a testament to the power of love, and her family was her greatest pride.
Marelyn leaves behind a hole in the hearts of all who knew her, but her love will live on forever.
Plans for a celebration of her life are to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a tree be planted in her name or a donation be made to The American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
Marelyn, you will be missed more than words can express. Your legacy will continue to inspire us, and we are so grateful for the love you gave us every single day. May you rest in peace, knowing that you will forever be loved and remembered.
