Marjorie (Witham) Healy, 89, of Westborough, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the presence of her loving family.
Mrs. Healy was born on February 27, 1922 in Boulder, Colorado, the daughter of Professor Myron E. Witham and Maria Tobin Witham. Her father was a mathematics professor and head football coach at the University of Colorado.
In 1933 her family moved to Burlington, Vermont. Mrs. Healy graduated from Saint Mary’s Catholic High School in 1939 and from the University of Vermont in 1943, where she met her future husband, Dick Healy.
Mr. and Mrs. Healy were married in 1946 after a three -year separation immediately upon Mr. Healy’s return from service with the US Army Air Force in Italy. They would have celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary on February 16, 2012.
Mrs. Healy is survived by her devoted husband, seven children and sixteen grandchildren. Her children are Richard W. Healy of Westborough, Michael P. and Linda Healy of Bellingham, Joan M. Lowbridge-Sisley and husband Ted Sisley of Monson, John M. and Mary-Kate Healy of Naples, FL, Mary M. Lecoeuvre of Sugar Hill, GA, Paul G Healy of Westborough and Christine E. Peyton and husband Brian of Aurora, CO. The Healy family has been part of the Westborough community since 1964.
Mrs. Healy was devoted to her family, church and community. She was an active member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was employed as a teacher’s aide at the Fales School of Westborough public schools for twenty years, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Mrs. Healy was also proud of her work with the Westborough cable committee and the Westborough Public Library addition committee.
Mrs. Healy was a devoted wife, mother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 10th from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11th in Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 70 West Main Street, Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers at Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, Inc., Saint Luke’s Mustard Seed or Saint Luke’s Outreach Program.
