WESTBOROUGH- Marjorie N. Paulson, 91, formerly of Westborough, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in West Boylston. She was the wife of the late C. Robert Paulson.

Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Dorothea (Thomas) Norcross. She was educated in Brockton and was a 1941 graduate of Brockton High School. Marjorie also attended Westbrook Junior College and graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945.

She was employed as an RN for the Assabet Valley Home Health Association, Visiting Nurse, from 1975 to 1991 and then as the nurse for Council On Aging from 1991 to 2004. She was also the former staff nurse at the Lyman School and Head Nurse at Westborough State Hospital, Hadley Building.

Marjorie was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough, past president of Women’s Fellowship and past Deacon all at the church. She was also a member of the Dartmouth Alumni Office Paper and enjoyed playing Bridge and  Scrabble, as well as gardening, sewing and traveling. She never lost her enthusiasm for lobster, steamers, mussels and oysters or Sutter Home White Zinfandel! Though she loved New England, she left her heart in San Francisco!

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Alan B. Paulson and Marguerite DiPalma of Cranston, RI and Kirk R. Paulson of Santa Cruz, CA, two daughters, Christine Paulson VanHoy and her husband Bob VanHoy of Cupertino, CA and Carla Paulson Mason and her partner Kathy Marple of Shrewsbury; one sister, Nancy Norcross of Bridgewater; six grandchildren, Teri Balser, Amy O’Hayer, Sarah Paulson, Caitlyn and Luke Mason, and Harrison Frate, and four great grandchildren, Lyric and Jaylee Rosa-O’Hayer Xander  and Teaghan O’Hayer. Marge was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Eileen Boyce Paulson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 24 at 3 P.M. in the Pilgrim Church, 15 Common St, Southborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Westborough Community Chorus Scholarship Fund, PO Box 702, Westborough, MA 01581  or the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604
