WESTBOROUGH- Mark L. Flanagan, 63, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare- University Hospital, Worcester, after being stricken ill at work. He was the beloved husband of Janice A. (Smith) Flanagan.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Leo and Beatrice (Hampl) Flanagan. He was raised and educated in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School. He also attended Wentworth Institute.
Mark was employed as a truck driver for ABF Trucking Company. He also worked part time as a driver for the U.S Postal Service.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 170 and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Nicole D. Flanagan and her significant other, Andrew Ricci, of Westborough, Ashley E. Rivera and her husband, Martine, of Grafton and Joel T. Flanagan of Westborough; one brother, David Flanagan of Framingham; one sister, Amy Abbott of Halifax, VT; four beloved grandchildren, Hunter, Corbin, Logan and Dominic and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Monday, April 21, from 5 to 8 P.M.
