WESTBOROUGH

Mary Louise (Tally) Curran, 89, passed away peacefully with family on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Whitney Place in Westborough, MA.  She was the widow of Dr. Francis J. Curran, to whom she was married for nearly 50 years.

Born and raised in Providence, RI, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Lyons) Tally.  She graduated from St Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1953.  After her marriage, she settled and raised her children in Attleboro, MA.  Mary also was a registered nurse and worked primarily as an acute care rehabilitation nurse in the Attleboro and Providence areas.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, whose greatest joy was the time she spent with the many she loved.  She particularly enjoyed travel, theater, and classical music performances with her family and friends.  She also was an active member of her church and community, including serving as an active member of local and state political groups, and as a learning disability and literacy advocate.

Survivors include her children, Christopher, Stephen, Maureen Tillett, Timothy, and Kathleen, and their families, including 13 beloved grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; her brother, John Tally; and her sisters-in-law Eileen Tally, Margaret (Peg) Tally, Eleanor Tally, and Mary Tally.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark's Church, 105 Stanley Street, North Attleborough, MA, at 10 A.M. on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Private burial will be in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA.
