WESTBOROUGH- Mary L. Diedering, 86, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester. She was the wife of the late William Diedering, Jr.  Born in Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Ovid and Alice (Moore) Bernier. She was educated in Medford schools and graduated from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene.   Mary was employed for many years as a dental hygienist in Worcester prior to her retirement.  Mary and her husband Bill were active members of the Westborough Players Club for many years where they made wonderful friends. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Westborough. Mary was involved in numerous volunteer efforts such as providing transportation for The Westborough Senior Center. She also enjoyed spending time at the Westborough Public Library and excelled at the New York Times crossword puzzle. Among her many interests, Mary was a political activist and an advocate for Peace. Most important of all to Mary was time spent with her family and friends.   Mary is survived by her three children, Joy Ashley of S. Grafton, William Diedering, III, and his wife, Cindy Russell, of Sandwich and Fay Macomber and her husband, Bob, of N. Grafton; seven grandchildren, Matthew Ashley, Jared Ashley, Jana Otis, Mark Diedering, Kristen Jennings, Stephanie Graham and Katie Macomber, five great grandchildren and many wonderful friends.  Services will be private for family only.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester, MA 01602 or to the Friends of the Westborough Public Library, 55 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581.
