Mary J. Ennis

Mary Jane (Emerick) Ennis, 85, formerly a resident of Northborough, MA for more than 50 years and a current resident of Westborough, MA, and wife of the late James Ennis, Jr. passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her family. Deborah Ennis of Manchester, CT, Patricia Ennis and her husband Daniel Malloy of Charlton, MA, and Cynthia Cronan and her husband William Cronan of Webster, MA. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Lauren and Will Cronan of Webster, MA.

In addition, she leaves behind her cherished sister Martha Callahan of Uxbridge, MA, her sister-in-law Mary Emerick of Uxbridge, MA and her sister-in-law Lori Lilly and her husband Richard Preston of Palm Beach, FL.

She also leaves behind her many nieces and nephews and their children, and her many friends, all of whom she loved and cared for deeply.

She was predeceased by her parents John Sr. and Martha Emerick of Whitinsville, MA along with her siblings: Isabelle Elias, John Emerick, Jr., Anna Kelliher, Agnes McLaughlin, Benjamin Emerick and Margaret Emerick.

Mary was born and raised in Uxbridge, MA. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing in Worcester, MA. Over the years, she brought peace and comfort to many as a registered nurse at Milford Hospital, Cushing Hospital, Westborough State Hospital, Timothy Daniel and Holliston Manor. She retired as Director of Nurses at Framingham Nursing Home, where she was honored with an award by the Massachusetts Federation of Nursing Homes for her compassion, dedication and outstanding contributions to nursing home residents’ quality of life.

The lives she touched with her gentle spirit and warmth will forever be remembered.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 88 Granite Street, Uxbridge, MA.
