The world lost a kind soul on January 5, 2023, when Maryanne “Mimi” McLaughlin Hall of Westborough, MA, passed away peacefully of natural causes. Mimi was a life-long Catholic and a member of Saint Luke’s parish in Westborough since settling there in 1975. Mimi’s ardent belief in the power of prayer and community were cornerstones of her nearly 40 years of sobriety as a very active member of the Alcoholics Anonymous program. She cherished her time at meetings and will be sorely missed by scores of fellow dear friends of Bill W, who help each other through the recovery process. She loved her family, the beach, reading in the sun, Hershey Kisses, praying the Rosary at the Westborough Reservoir, and eating Happy Meals. Mimi could and did talk to everyone, everywhere, and could always find a connection. She loved good jokes, wise cracks, underdogs, and comeback stories.
Born August 11, 1938, Mimi was the oldest of the late James and Margaret McLaughlin’s 5 children. She was raised in Wallingford, CT, and was a proud alumnus of Albertus Magnus College. In addition to raising her six children, Mimi worked as an elementary school teacher, real estate agent, and credit specialist for a variety of companies. She is survived by her brother Christopher McLaughlin of Wallingford, having previously mourned the losses of her sister Winifred, and brothers Thomas and James. She is also survived by her six children, Katie Hall and her husband, David Harrison, of Arlington, MA, Michael Hall and his wife, Lisa, of Franklin, MA, Peggy Kinsman and her husband, Todd, of Westborough, MA, Patrick Hall of New Windsor, MD, Jennifer Cafarella and her husband, Tom, of Winchester, MA and Daniel Hall and his wife, Sandra, of Ashburnham, MA. Mimi was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren (and one on the way) and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough.
A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the Mass at St. Luke’s Parish Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to St. Luke’s Parish Outreach, https://stlukes-parish.org/parish-outreach or a charity of your choice.
