Westborough

Melissa E. (Foss) Redmond, 45, of Clifton Park, NY, formerly of Grafton and Westborough, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 14, 2017 at home. She was the wife of Darren Redmond.

Born in Marlborough, she was raised and educated in Westborough and Grafton schools and graduated from Grafton High School. She was an accomplished runner for the varsity outdoor track team and also competed in the Women’s Tufts 10K race in Boston.

She also attended and graduated from Concord College in Athens, W. VA, earning a degree in hotel and restaurant management.  She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and treasured the camaraderie with her sorority sisters.

Melissa worked at various hotels and restaurants in the greater area for the past 20 years.  She loved to travel, cook, and was an avid reader of anything non-fiction.  She delighted in telling everyone she inherited her ‘gift of gab’ from her Grandmother Foss.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her mother, Karen A. Boehnke and her husband, Paul, of Shrewsbury; her maternal grandmother, Jean A. Conway of Braintree; paternal grandparents, Donald and Shirley Foss of Westborough; her two beloved cats, Brady and Lorkie and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Melissa was predeceased by her father, David Foss.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 A.M. in Pine Grove Cemetery, South St., Westborough.  There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606
