With heavy hearts, we announce that Natalie K. Motta, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 6th–her birthday. Natalie, affectionately known as “Mema”, was a cherished mother and grandmother, who will be remembered for her deep love of family, helping those in need, a green thumb that made any plant or vegetable flourish, and riding around town in her red Corvette. Her greatest passion was bringing her loved ones together, for even the smallest occasion, highlighted by one of her delicious, bountiful meals. This rang especially true for the holidays. Seeing those same traditions instilled in her children brought her tremendous pride.
Born on November 6, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Natalie was the only daughter of Leonard and Cecelia Turano, and younger sister to Joseph Turano, all of whom predeceased her. Natalie is survived by her devoted children: Stephanie Motta of Worcester, Chris Motta and his wife Alene of Belchertown, and Lee Motta and his wife Laura of Worcester; as well as her seven grandchildren, lovingly known as her “Doves”: Christopher, Evan, Logan, Kyle, Jordan, Zachary, and Eva. She is also survived by several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, much-loved extended family, and her precious cat, Lexi.
A proud caretaker, Natalie devoted her career to helping others. She worked in the pathology department at Framingham Union Hospital for over 20 years, followed by UMass Memorial Medical Center. From there, she continued her service as a Visiting Angel for the elderly and dedicated her life seeking to aid people in her community and beyond. With endless love to give, it was only fair that she shared the gift of her incredibly generous heart with others, every day.
The Motta family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation and Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their loving care and compassion for Natalie. A special thank you to Kayla at Saint Francis, as well as her Angels at the “Dialysis Den”, Alba, Scott, and Luis.
Although Natalie is no longer here with us, her love, empathy, and unique Spirit, are sure to live on through the wonderful memories she helped create.
