Paula Von Kummer

UPTON- Paula von Kummer, 92, of Upton passed away on Saturday November 3, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Ferdinand “Dick” von Kummer.

Born in St. Louis, MO she was the daughter of Herbert Bruce and Marion (Schibsby) Puffer. She was a graduate of Evanston Township High School and studied at Northwestern University, Evanston IL.

Paula was a homemaker, raising 5 children, whom she loved dearly.  At the age of 70, she started her passion of sales at Hay Scales Exchange in North Andover.  She loved that job, the shop, her co-workers, and customers.

In 2012, after residing in North Andover for 30 years, she moved to Upton to live with family.

Paula is survived by four children: Bruce von Kummer of Manchester, CT, Susan Sarnocinski and her husband Michael of Lansdale, PA, Judith von Kummer and her husband Leon Wilkins of Denver, NC, Penelope Anderson and her husband Gregory of Upton, MA, eight grandchildren, Carrie Dempsey, Jennifer Blasy, Tracy Spencer, Justin von Kummer, Zachary von Kummer, Paige Anderson, Reese Anderson, Dean Anderson, one great grand child Oliver Dempsey, one brother Michael Puffer of St. Charles, MI, one sister in law Adrienne von Kummer of Bloomfield, CT and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her son Richard von Kummer and her sister Nancy Dillingham.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 10, at 10:00 am in St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 3 John St, Westborough. Burial will be private in Bloomfield CT.
